More Stakes Success for Nicconi Mare

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 8
Classy Nicconi mare Concealer burst back to top form when taking out the Listed SAJC Manihi Classic at Morphettville on Saturday.

Concealer - Grant CourtneyConcealer was a brilliant debut winner of the Group III VRC Emirates Airlines Plate on Cup Day as a two year-old beating Prompt Response and Missrock, who have both gone on to be top class fillies and now older mares.

Surprisingly winless since then, the Tony McEvoy trained mare led all the way to win the 1100 metre sprint by half a head in a performance that may well boost her confidence.

A $35,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Widden Stud draft for McEvoy Mitchell Racing, Concealer is the best of three winners from Tale of the Cat (USA) mare Beauty Kit, a half-sister to the dam of Group II WATC Karrakatta Plate winner Motion Pictures.

She has the overall record of two wins and four placings from 11 starts with prizemoney topping $250,000.

Concealer is the fourth stakes-winner this season for Nicconi, who just keeps delivering winners and covered 208 mares at Widden last spring.
