FBAA Mentorship Program - Successful Applicants Announced

The FBAA is excited to announce the selection of two mentees to participate in the second annual FBAA Mentorship Program commencing 19th May 2025.

The foundation of the program is to provide aspiring bloodstock agents with a formal pathway towards professional development in the bloodstock industry, whilst fostering education and encouraging best practice with face-to-face engagement and agent shadowing with various FBAA members at the Magic Millions National Weanling & Broodmare Sales and the Inglis Great Southern Sale.

The applicant pool was competitive, and the successful mentees have been specifically selected for their practical horsemanship skills, commitment to learning and passion for bloodstock. The successful FBAA 2025 Mentorship Program candidates are Daniel Hickey and Joshua Buttenshaw

Daniel Hickey

Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in Global Business and has a strong passion for bloodstock.  He is currently working at highly respected stud farm, Yarraman Park and will be mentored by experienced FBAA member Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock.

Joshua Buttenshaw

Joshua is Sydney based and currently works in the stable of champion trainer, Peter Snowden.  The twenty-year-olds enthusiastic and professional demeanour was highly regarded and he will be mentored by FBAA President Craig Rounsefell of Boomer Bloodstock.

The FBAA is committed to fostering excellence and innovation in the thoroughbred industry and looks forwards to working with both Daniel and Joshua.  The mentorship program is part of the FBAA’s ongoing mission to support emerging talent and uphold the highest standards in bloodstock services.
