Zoustar share realises $1.1m in April (Late) Online Sale

Media Release - Wednesday April 30

A share in Champion sire Zoustar topped today’s Inglis Digital April (Late) Online Sale, selling for $1.1m.

Offered by Qatar Bloodstock, the share sold to Craig Rounsefell’s Boomer Bloodstock, acting on behalf of an undisclosed client.

“I’m always looking to bolster clients’ portfolios and thought this offering fitted the bill perfectly,’’ Rounsefell said.

“When we saw the listing on Inglis Digital last week we instantly knew we wanted to be really strong on it because I see it as a great investment and so did my client.

“Zoustar is such a fantastic stallion, he’s going to be right at the top for the foreseeable future and to be able to buy equity in him is really pleasing.

“It’s obviously a lot of money in anyone’s books but the process on Inglis Digital was so easy, I love the site, whether you’re buying or selling the Inglis team make it all so seamless every time.’’

Today’s second-top lot was exciting 3YO Yoshinobu, which was offered by trainers Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald on behalf of the horse’s owners.

He was purchased by Full Circle Racing for $180,000 and will remain in the Archibald/Neasham stable.

“Yoshinobu was offered on Inglis Digital to dissolve a partnership amongst the ownership group and some of the other owners wanted to retain the horse and keep him with us in the stable so everyone is happy,’’ Archibald said.

“He’s a really talented colt that we believe has much more to offer on the track and we’re looking forward to seeing how far he can go.

“That’s the beauty of Inglis Digital, horses can race one week and sell the next, everything is timeless and easy, it’s a great tool for the entire industry.’’

The Neasham/Archibald team have already enjoyed incredible success with graduates of Inglis Digital, with their purchases from the site including subsequent million dollar earner West Of Africa.

In a sale that grossed $6,121,900, another purchase of interest today was that of the 2YO colt Mednyi (Capitalist).

Offered by Emirates Park as agent, Mednyi sold to Hong Kong’s Mr Liu Man Ho for $160,000.

“I bought him because he looks to be a progressive racehorse and a potential black type performer,’’ Mr Liu said.

“He has only had five starts and appears to have some upside. Hopefully, he will continue to improve further in Hong Kong.

“This is my first time using Inglis Digital. I was introduced to the platform by [Inglis’ Asia representative] Nicky Wong and received assistance throughout the sale process.

“I found the platform very user friendly and easy to follow from the setup, and I’m looking forward to buying again if another suitable prospect comes up."

In total eight lots realised $100,000 or more in today’s sale, taking the number of six-figure lots sold on the platform in 2025 to 35.

Entries are now open for the May (Early) Sale, which will run from May 9-14.

Entries for the May (Early) Sale will remain open until midnight on Wednesday May 7 or until it has reached capacity, as this April (Late) Sale did.
