Dirty Work Filly Wins $125,000 VOBIS Gold Strike

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 29

The Lindsay Park training partnership had a great result on Tuesday producing the quinella in the $125,000 VOBIS Gold Strike (1000m) at Warrnambool with Dirty Work filly Mrs Iglesia too good for her stablemate and race favourite Killiana.

Mrs Iglesia was a last start winner at Cranbourne earlier this month and given a patient ride by Ben Allen, she dived through late to gain the upper hand and win by a long neck.

The victory took her overall record to two wins and a second from four starts with prizemoney topping $135,000.

Mrs Iglesia is a homebred for Revelstone Stud and is the second winner from unraced Pierro mare Streamline Pearl, who comes from the family of Group I winners River Dove, Captivant and Crown Prosecutor.

Mrs Iglesia is one of three winners from just nine starters for Dirty Work with the best of them the WA based stakes-winner Do I Feel Lucky.

Dirty Work

A brilliant Group II winning son of Written Tycoon, Dirty Work stands at Widden Victoria this spring at a fee of $13,200.
