First Winner for Peltzer

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 25

A fast Group II winning son of So You Think, Peltzer retired to Twin Hills Stud in 2021 and with his oldest progeny just two year-olds he posted his first ever winner on ANZAC Day with a debut victory for Tom Vegas.

Trained at Bathurst by Dean Mirfin, Tom Vegas was brought to Rosehill for two barrier trials in March and April, but went back to his home track to make his debut on Friday.

Unwanted by punters, Tom Vegas was a mile too good for the opposition, cruising home to win by nearly two lengths over the race favourite Gilette, another first starter by Exceedance.

Retained to race by his breeder Danny Gregory, Tom Vegas has been an eye-catching horse since he was born!

Tom Vegas was a cracking foal - pictured at Twin Hills stud in 2022.

He is the second foal and first winner from Casino Prince mare Love Las Vegas, a winning full sister to stakes-placed Good Prince from the family of Group III winner Amovatio.

Love Las Vegas has a weanling filly by Daumier that will be offered in the Twin Hills Stud draft at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale as Lot 511.

Peltzer stands at a fee of $11,000 this spring.

Peltzer has his first winner!
