Juvenile Trial Watch – Randwick

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 14

Three heats for juveniles at the Randwick barrier trials on Monday produced a couple of interesting winners including an unraced I Am Invincible colt and the half-sister to Group I ATC Australian Oaks place-getter You Wahng.

First look at I Am Invincible colt Feared, who carries the China Horse Club/ Newgate colours and is trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman. He did everything right for Tommy Berry in jumping well and settling behind the speed before hitting the line well when asked the question to get going.

Feared is the first foal of Rosina Kojonup, a winning sibling by Shamus Award to Group I ATC Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign and Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Time to Reign.

Good improvement from unraced Pierro filly Listen Sweetheart, who was sporting blinkers for the first time. The John Sargent trained filly was having her third trial and this was easily her best and she looked confident going forward to take the lead and then stayed there running quicker time than the previous trial won by Feared.

A $240,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Riversdale for Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock, Listen Sweetheart carries the Jonathan Munz Pinecliff Racing colours and is a half-sister to stakes-winner Street Gossip and G1 placed You Wahng being from winning Casino Prince mare Wahng Wah, who traces back to the Twyla branch of the Dancing Show (USA) family that has been running hot of late.
