Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 2

Highest priced colt at the 2024 Perth Magic Millions, two year-old Brazen Beau colt Elite Beau made a winning debut as a short priced favourite at Ascot on Wednesday.

Trained by Grant and Alana Williams, Elite Beau settled back in the field and was the widest runner in the straight letting down with a great burst to surge home and win the 1000m maiden by three-quarters of a length.

A $375,000 Magic Millions purchase for China Horse Club/Williams Racing WA/Suman Hedge Bloodstock from the Yarradale Stud draft, Elite Beau carries the China Horse Club colours and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Cashel Palace being the second winner from Burgoyne.

Elite Beau was the highest priced colt at MM Perth 2024 selling for $375,000.

Elite Beau is also a three-quarter brother-in-blood to Brazen Beau’s Group I winner Zapateo, who is from stakes-winner Jerezana, a half-sister to his dam Burgoyne.

It’s a strong Black Type family that also includes Group winners Osborne Bulls and Viridine.
