Invincible 2YO Trifecta

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 28
Second to Estijaab in the Group II ATC Reisling Stakes at her last outing, talented grey filly Pure Elation always looked to be a good thing at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and she duly led home a trifecta in the juvenile fillies maiden for her sire I Am Invincible.

Sent to Melbourne by Peter and Paul Snowden to run in the Blue Diamond lead ups, Pure Elation failed to produce her best on race day finishing fifth and seventh at her first two starts before returning to Sydney.

Pure Elation as a yearlingFreshened up and pitched into the deep end against Estijaab, she showed her true ability when going down by a neck and today finally joined all the dots to post her first win.

Drawn the outside in a field of 10, Pure Elation was eased back by Michael Walker, who rode her down in Melbourne and when brought to the outside on straightening she flew past her rivals as though they were tied to the fence.

Pure Elation ran out an easy two length winner over two more I Am invincible fillies in Bold Arial and She's Furline.

"I thought in Melbourne she could win a Blue Diamond, but she kept doing everything backwards," Walker said.

"They brought her back and made some gear changes with her and you can see how much better she is."

A $320,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Paul Moroney Bloodstock from the Swettenham Stud draft, Pure Elation runs for Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock.

"She did a great job," said Peter Snowden.

"She's been in work a long time and it's hard for a two year-old to stay up that long, but she's doing it.

"We've always been looking at the fillies race at Randwick (Group II Percy Sykes on April 14) for her, so if she pulls up well we'll go there."

Pure Elation is the first foal of stakes-winning Hussonet (USA) mare Members Joy, who was offered at the inaugural Inglis Chairman's Sale last year where she was snapped by Newstar Partnership for $500,000.

Newgate Farm and partners were buying quality mares to go to their young gun sires and Members Joy is now in foal to Flying Artie.
