Colts to Die For

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 28
In two weeks time the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale will be approaching the half-way point and while many buyers have been carrying out on farm inspections in recent weeks, the rest of us love to see the yearling images as they are uploaded to the Inglis site, so we've gone through and selected some exceptional colts that really caught our eye.

Lot 40
Colt I Am Invincible x Belle Couture, by Redoute's Choice – Newgate Farm

Mum topped this sale when selling for $2.6 million in 2012 and while she only managed to win one race on the track from a brief career, she is a half-sister to Black Caviar and All Too Hard. Her first foal, a colt by Pierro made $400,000 at this sale last year when bought by Peter Devitt.

Lot 48 Colt Sebring x Bonaria, by Redoute's Choice – Widden Stud

First foal of Group I VRC Myer Classic winner Bonaria, a half-sister to Group III winner Legally Bay the dam of Royal Ascot bound Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Merchant Navy.

Lot 81 Colt Medaglia D'Oro (USA) x Crowned Glory, by Danehill (USA) – Gooree Stud

Half-brother to dual Group I winner and $1.3 million earner Hallowed Crown and Group III winning sire Needs Further. His dam Crowned Glory was second in the Golden Slipper and comes from the family of champion sire Zabeel.

Lot 98 Colt Savabeel x Donna Cattiva, by Captain Rio (GB) – Trelawney Stud

Third foal of a stakes-winning sister to Group I winner Il Quello Veloce and sister-in-blood to multiple Group I winning sprinter Terravista. Grand-dam is a sister to blue hen Parfore and the family has also produced this season's very good two year-old Long Leaf.

Lot 180 Colt Deep Field x Jolie Bay, by Fastnet Rock – Segenhoe Stud

Second foal of Group II winner Jolie Bay, who was second in the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes, a race won by her full brother Merchant Navy. On pedigree, he has the potential to set a new benchmark for his first season sire Deep Field, whose top seller so far is $675,000.

Lot 208 Colt Medaglia D'Oro (USA) x Listen Here, by Elusive Quality (USA) – Cressfield

Half-brother to Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting to Win and Group II winner Deep Field from stakes-winner Listen Here. She was sold for $3.4 million in 2016 and her yearling at this sale last year, a filly by Zoustar, sold for $1million.

Lot 335 Colt Fastnet Rock x Rubimill, by Rubiton – Coolmore

Full brother to Group I placed stakes-winner El Roca and dam is an unraced full sister to Group III winner Millrich, the dam of the mighty Redzel, a multiple Group I winner of over $8million. Redzel is a gelding… this fellow is not!

Lot 400 Colt Fastnet Rock x The Broken Shore, by Hussonet (USA) – Arrowfield Stud

Full brother to dual Group I winner Shoals and is the third foal of The Broken Shore, who made $1.9 million at the Teeley Assets Dispersal and comes from the peerless family of Redoute's Choice. On pedigree, he's the colt of the sale!
