Yulong Move On Private Harry - Everest A Lock

Craig Tompson - Friday March 28

Yulong have moved on their second Harry Angel colt this autumn, purchasing a half share in unbeaten last start Group I ATC The Galaxy winner Private Harry and locking him into their Everest slot in the spring.

Racenet’s Ray Thomas has reported the deal is worth $15 million with more incentives should the horse go on to further Group I success.

It is also reported the horse will stay with current trainer Nathan Doyle for now.

Doyle paid $115,000 for the colt along with Kurrinda Bloodstock from his breeders Rheinwood Pastoral at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, so he’s become a remarkably life changing horse in short time, having made his debut last November.

Yulong purchased Harry Angel’s Group II winning three-year-old colt Angel Capital following his win in the Autumn Stakes in February, a performance which saw him a short-priced favourite at the time for the Group I Australian Guineas.

He was, however, a race morning scratching from that race with some mucus being discovered and has since been transferred to the Chris Waller stable.

On this week’s Tara Talks Racing podcast we discussed Private Harry and whether Yulong may have bought the wrong Harry Angel at the time.

Have a listen.
