Newgate to Offer Three-Quarter-Brother to I Am Excited

Media Release - Monday March 26
Brilliant stakes wins at her last two starts for speedy Snitzel filly I Am Excited have really put the spotlight on her yearling three-quarter brother that will be offered by Newgate Farm at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

I Am Excited has won three straight, two of them stakes races! The David Pfieffer trained three year-old has been in rare form this preparation reeling off three successive wins, her last two in the Listed ATC Fireball Stakes and then the Listed ATC Darby Munro Stakes.

"She's in great form, three in a row is hard to do especially in big races," Pfieffer said.

"She will head to the Arrowfield (Sprint) in three weeks' time - it's a good prizemoney race at Group II level."

A three-quarter sister to stakes-winner Flippant, who has won the Group III VRC Frances Tressady Stakes since the catalogue went to print, I Am Excited is the second stakes-winner from Lady Beckworth, a half-sister by General Nediym to the dam of Group I winners Atlantic Jewel and Commanding Jewel.

Lady Beckworth was purchased from the 2016 Inglis Australian Broodmare from the Bell River Thoroughbreds Dispersal for $400,000 by Henry Field Bloodstock.

Her first foal born at Newgate Farm is a cracking Hinchinbrook colt that will be offered by Newgate as Lot 194 at Inglis Easter. He is a full brother to Flippant and three-quarter brother to I Am Excited.
