The Pride of Jenni colours were back in the winner’s circle at Sandown on Wednesday with progressive Too Darn Hot (GB) gelding The Muffin Man opening his account as a red hot favourite.

Trained by Charlotte Littlefield, The Muffin Man was having his second run back from a spell and improved on his first up third at Sandown last month to win the 1400m maiden by three-quarters of a length at his fourth start with Ethan Brown in the saddle.

The Muffin Man was bred by Tony and Lynn Ottobre’s Cape Schank Stud and retained to race after passing in at Inglis Premier.

He is the second winner from three foals to race from stakes-winner High Chaparral (IRE) mare Jennifer Lynn, who was also raced by the Ottobre family.

She has a two year-old filly by Wootton Bassett (GB) called Jenni Bassett that has also been retained and given to Ciaron Maher to train and her yearling colt by Snitzel has been entered for Inglis Easter in the Sledmere Stud draft as Lot 3.

Jennifer Lynn missed the next year and was then covered again by Wootton Bassett.
