Just three heats for juveniles at Warwick Farm on Monday morning and the winners are all unraced with two of them by first season sires Hanseatic and Time to Reign and a third from the bargain basement of I Am Invincible.
The Matthew Smith trained Hanseatic filly Ivory Frost was fast and professional leading all the way to win by a couple of lengths at her third trial.
Gary Portelli won the Group II ATC Silver Slipper with Time to Reign and he puts the polish on his talented son My Mate Elvis, who did everything right to score an easy win at his first appearance.
The third heat went to the Bjorn Baker trained I Am Invincible colt Invincible Phantom, who is now two for two at the trials and ran the quickest of these heats in winning by a couple of lengths.
Invincible Phantom was purchased for just $160,000 which puts him down amongst the cheapest yearlings by his champion sire, but he comes with a pedigree as his dam Miss Carlotta is a three-quarter sister to Group II winner Autumn Ballet and her grand-dam O’Giselle is a sister to the great champion Lonhro.
