South African Win for Well Bred Charge Forward Filly

Opening her account with an easy win as favourite at Greyville on Sunday was three year-old Charge Forward filly Roy's Stingray.

Fourth on debut last year, the Alyson Wright trained filly improved at her second start to win the 1400 metre maiden by a length.

Charge ForwardA modest $16,000 Magic Millions Weanling purchase from the Glastonbury Farm draft for World Wide Bloodstock, Roy's Stingray runs for prominent owner Roy Moodley.

A full sister to stakes-placed Andromache (dam of stakes-placed Pageantry), she is the sixth winner from NZ bred dual South African Group I winner Mythical Play.

Three year-old Bernardini (USA) gelding Sir Bernardini made it a winning double for Aussie breds when he won the next race, his third win from four starts.

Sir Bernardini (from Redesign) was a $52,500 Inglis Premier purchase from the Bowness Stud draft for World Wide Bloodstock.
