New Record Priced Colt Early at MM Perth

A new record price for a colt at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling was set early on Day One which was also a new record for a colt by his sire Playing God.

The Playing God x Clear Blue Sky colt made $450,000

Lot 15 by Playing God out of Clear Blue Sky was offered by Alwyn Park Stud as agent for Anita Vale Stud, being knocked down to Idan Young for $450,000 with the colt set to head to the Dan Morton stables.

He’s the first foal of his dam, an unraced half-sister by Sessions to Group I Oakleigh Plate winner and budding sire Portland Sky.

The family includes Western Australian champ and three-time Group One winner Scenic Shot.

The previous record for a colt was set last year at $375,000 with the Brazen Beau x Burgoyne colt bought by China Horse Club/Williams Racing WA/Suman Hedge Bloodstock from Yarradale Stud.

Western Australia’s leading sire, Playing God also has the record priced filly at the Perth Sale, set last year by the filly out of Cosimah Domination, selling for $625,000 to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock from Mungrup.
