The Clinton McDonald trained colt is a winner of four from seven and made a brilliant return to his autumn campaign with victory on the Group II Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 8.

Angel Capital had won the McKenzie Stakes (LR) and Caulfield Guineas Prelude (G3) during the spring which saw him start second favourite in the Group I Caulfield Guineas, however found himself awkwardly placed in a leader dominated race and ultimately finished sixth.

He is currently the $3.50 favourite for the Group I Australian Guineas to be run at Flemington on March 1.

Angel Capital was originally a $400,000 yearling purchase for Gregory Ho and Upper Bloodstock from the Mill Park Stud draft at the 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Bred by David Peacock, he is one of three stakes-winners for Teofilo mare Bahamas along with the three-time stakes winner Berkeley Square and the Group III ATC Frank Packer Plate winner Senor Toba, who was runner-up in the Group 1 Queensland Derby and third in the Champions and Chater Cup at Sha Tin.

Bahamas was runner-up in the Group III South Australian Fillies Classic and third in the Group I Schweppes Oaks.
