Autumn Over for O' Ole and Blitzburg

Craig Tompson - Friday February 14

The autumn is over for Magic Millions winner O’ Ole, while another Sydney Blue Diamond hopeful, Blitzburg has also been ruled out with a bone chip.

O' Ole winning the Magic Millions 2YO Classic

O’ Ole had barrier trialled at Randwick on Thursday in preparation for her next run in the Group I Blue Diamond Stakes and surprised plenty of watchers when coming under pressure in the straight and seeming to put in something of a lacklustre showing, finishing third behind Lady Pankhurst.

Trainer Bjorn Baker reported she was found to be lame when trotted up at the stables on Friday morning and will head straight to the spelling paddock.

Assuming she isn't seen again this season, she finishes her juvenile year as the winner of two races and a second in the Gimcrack Stakes from five starts, and $1.9million in earnings.

The Gerald Ryan / Sterling Alexiou colt Blitzburg is also heading to the paddock.

A $500,000 yearling, Blitzburg was a last start winner of the Group III Canonbury Stakes and connections had subsequently decided on a tilt at the Blue Diamond next Saturday.

The colt has chipped a bone in his fetlock however which also sees his autumn done.
