Yearling Attention Heads West

Breednet - Thursday February 13

The yearling sale caravan moves on to Perth next week after this week’s Classic Sale in Sydney and the Breednet data has tossed up a few highlights.

The Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale kicks off next Thursday and in the realm of catalogue updates, Darling View Thoroughbreds have a great one in Lot 221, a colt by Lonhro out of Fortune Of War.

Lot 221 has added a stakes winner and a promising stakes placed juvenile to the pedigree.

Since the catalogue was printed the colt’s half-brother Patch Of Theta has won the Group III Challenge Cup in Hong Kong and Fortune Of War has also produced the promising two-year-old Yamashita’s Gold, second in the Blue Diamond Preview (LR).

All the Catalogue updates are here.

The Nicks data is always interesting and one nick we discussed on the Tara Talks Racing podcast recently was the Written By / Snitzel nick which is currently running at nine runners for seven winners and two stakes winners.

Written By filly from Snitzel mare Squaw Peak.

Lot 137, a filly with Clare Downs Stud fits that bill.
