Performer Back in the Golden Slipper Game

Tom Baddock - Thursday March 15

One-time Golden Slipper favourite Performer, which dislodged champion jockey Hugh Bowman at his last start in the Group II Todman Stakes, put in a faultless performance at the Randwick trials on Thursday morning.

Performer is back in the Golden Slipper gameThe Chris Waller-trained colt made headlines for all the wrong reasons last Saturday and was required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards in order to take his place in the world's richest two-year-old race on March 24.

With the addition of blinkers the son of Exceed and Excel passed with flying colours, trucking strongly into the trial under no pressure before pulling away in the final stages for a strong victory under Kerrin McEvoy.
