Second Winner for Akeed Mofeed

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 12
Goldin Farms Champion HK racehorse Akeed Mofeed (GB) sired his second winner at Ballarat on Monday with an impressive win for the Team Hawkes trained colt Sunset Watch.

Fifth on debut last month behind Ennis Hill and Encryption in the Group III MRC Chairmans Stakes, Sunset Watch appreciated a drop in grade to maiden class to run out an easy two length winner as favourite.

Akeed MofeedA homebred for Goldin Farms, Sunset Watch is the first winner for stakes-placed Snitzel winner Saramenha, a half-sister to stakes-winner In Bloom.

Saramenha produced another filly by Akeed Mofeed last spring and is back in foal to him again.

By champion sire Dubawi, Akeed Mofeed won both the Hong Kong Derby and Hong Kong Cup during a fruitful racing career that saw him rated the third best horse in the world in early 2014.

Akeed Mofeed was retired to stand at South Australia's Goldin Farms in 2014 and stands at a fee of $16,500.

He has three entries for the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale this week.
