Capitalist had a select group of five yearlings to be offered at the NZB National Yearling Sale Book 1 this week at Karaka and all were sold in the first two sessions to give him 100% clearance and an average of $238,000.

$460,000 Capitalist colt from Unique Magic

Top seller for Capitalist at $460,000 was the Wentwood Grange consigned colt from Unique Magic that was bought by Patella Bloodstock. He is the third foal of a winning half-sister by Denman to triple Group I winner and $6million earner Kolding, Group II winner Sampson and stakes-winner Miss Upstart.

Matt Laurie Racing / De Burgh Equine purchased the next highest priced yearling paying $240,000 for the Hallmark Stud consigned filly from Miss Foxwood. A half-sister to four winners headed by stakes-placed Rubicon Crossing, the filly is from Group III placed Fastnet Rock mare Miss Foxwood, a daughter of Group I winner Foxwood from the family of eight time Group I winner and $16million earner Mr Brightside.

Little Avondale stallion Per Incanto’s outstanding season carried on in the Karaka sale ring on Thursday, where his weanling colt fetched a sale-topping $190,000 in the opening hour of the NZB National Weanling Sale.
