Step Back in Time – Where Were You in 2000?

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 20

The release of the Inglis Easter catalogue this week got me thinking about the past and a hunt through one of my cupboards produced a copy of the 2000 Inglis Easter Yearling catalogue and it turns out while some things have changed dramatically, others are pretty much the same!

Well worn 2000 Inglis Easter catalogue!

There were 19 first season sires represented in 2000 and 15 of them were foaled in the Northern Hemisphere and they included the most represented sire in the sale Woodman, who shuttled here as a proven horse. Out of all those shuttle horses that were first season sires at Easter that year it was Widden Stud’s Anabaa (USA) that proved the most successful in Australia and he is sire of the dam of Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside, who is in turn a first season sire this year.
