$500,000 Magic Millions Debut – Who are the Runners?

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 9

We know all about the two year-olds running in the $3million Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Saturday following the sun and surf barrier draw earlier this week, but what about the babies that missed the boat for that one, but are ready to kick off in the $500,000 Magic Millions Debut ?

A field of 10 unraced youngsters will get the chance to race for big cash in the 1000m dash with several of the big Sydney stables to saddle runners against the locals that include Tony Gollan, who will send out two runners including $450,000 Exceed and Excel filly Exceloquent, the most expensive runner.

Bred and sold by Tyreel Stud, Exceloquent carries the  colours of Black Soil Bloodstock, who tasted success earlier this week as breeders when selling the $1million Stay Inside colt from Bleu Zebra.

$450,000 Exceed and Excel filly Exceloquent is the most expensive runner.

This lovely filly is the first foal of young stakes-winning I Am Invincible mare I Am Eloquent, a daughter of stakes-winner Choice Words.

Three runners  won barrier trials at the Gold Coast last week – Steel Knight (Capitalist), Darn Hot Lady (Too Darn Hot (GB) and Koolatah Queen (Hellbent) – click here to see their trials and read the juvenile trial watch report.

Hellbent has two runners and in addition to Koolatah Queen has the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou trained filly In Limbo, who has shown natural pace in her Sydney trials and looks well placed from gate three with Kerrin McEvoy to ride.
