Magic Millions 2YO Classic Barrier Draw Shakes the Market

A big crowd was on hand at Surfer’s Paradise on Tuesday morning for the annual beach races and accompanying barrier draw for the $3million Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Saturday with the market given a big shake up when the top fancy Icarian Dream drew gate 21.

Ciaron Maher was looking for a third victory in the race with the daughter of Blue Point (IRE) following previous wins with quality fillies Away Game and Coolangatta, but her task has been made a lot more difficult.

Following the barrier draw, Victorian raider Invincible Woman moved to favourite at $5 ahead of Gallo Nero at $6 and Icarian Dream at $7.

Debut winning Zoustar colt Space Rider is sweating on a run as first emergency and is also priced at $7.

Most represented sire in the race is Spirit of Boom, who is currently leading the Australian two year-old sires list by earnings and winners and has four runners in the race with his best chance the last start winner La Bella Boom trained by Tony Gollan.
