Double Danehill Gains Momentum

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 5
When Hinchinbrook filly Seabrook won the Group II ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes on Saturday she became the 85th stakes-winner to carry a double cross of Danehill and joined a growing list of two year-old stakes-winners this season bred this way.

Seabrook is the latest stakes-winner to carry a double cross of DanehillAs time marches on and the Danehill blood starts to get further back in pedigrees, we are seeing greater success for this pattern of breeding which for so long has divided breeders and yearling buyers.

Love it or hate it you can't ignore the facts.

So far this season there have been eight two year-old stakes-winners to carry the double cross:

Sunlight (Zoustar, 4 x 3)
Seabrook (Hinchinbrook, 3 x 4)
Enbihaar (Magnus, 3 x 3)
Nomothaj (Snitzel, 3 x 4)
Outback Barbie (Spirit of Boom, 4 x 4)
Ef Troop (Spirit of Boom, 4 x 3)
Jonker (Spirit of Boom, 4 x 3)
The Enzo (Stratum, 3 x 5)
