Capitalist Colt Wins $150,000 Aquis Gold Nugget- Half-Brother MM

Tara Madgwick - Saturday January 4

The Sydney form of quality Wootton Bassett (GB) colt Pallaton was given a boost at the transferred Gold Coast meeting that was run at Sunshine Coast on Saturday when Capitalist colt Quietly Arrogant improved off his debut fourth behind that colt to win the $150,000 Aquis Gold Nugget (1100m) at his second start.

Trained by Peter Snowden and ridden by Blake Shinn, Quietly Arrogant was doing his best work late to pull away from the favourite Torque to be Sure to win by more than a length.

“We just wanted to ride him patiently as he over-raced a bit at his first start and got a few things wrong which two year-olds can do, but today he got everything right and won with good authority,” said Blake Shinn.

Assuming Quietly Arrogant pulls up well he will take his place in the $3million Magic Millions 2YO Classic next Saturday, a race won by his sire Capitalist in 2016 on his way to winning the Golden Slipper.

Quietly Arrogant was a $400,000 Magic Millions purchase from Newgate.

A $400,000 Magic Millions purchase from Newgate Farm for China Horse Club/Newgate/Go Bloodstock/Trilogy, Quietly Arrogant was bred by Belinda Bateman and is a full brother to Group III placed Customized.
