Written Tycoon Colt Breaks Maiden – Gold Coast Possible

Tara Madgwick - Friday December 6

The first race at the twilight meeting at Randwick on Friday produced a promising three year-old winner for Written Tycoon with the John O’Shea and Tom Charlton trained colt Metaphorically saluting at his third start.

Third on debut back in June, Metaphorically has been handled patiently and was second up from a spell in this 1300m maiden and it proved a suitable race with apprentice Zac Wadick urging him to a length win after angling into the clear.

A $200,00 Magic Millions purchase for John O’Shea from the Silverdale Farm draft, Metaphorically runs for an ownership group that inlcudes long time stable client Ron Finemore and is Magic Millions eligible, so that will be a consideration in future plans.

Metaphorically was a $200,000 Magic Millions purchase.

“We’ll give him another run here and then he will head up to the Gold Coast and he can be competitive when he gets there too,” said John O’Shea.

Metaphorically was bred by Iskander Racing and is the first foal of stakes-placed Denman mare Cymbalism, who comes from the family of Group I winners Yell, Holler and Microphone.

Silverdale Farm sold another Written Tycoon colt from Cymbalism at Inglis Easter this year that made $500,000 to the bid of Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock and has been named optimistically Best of the Best with Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr to train.
