Debut Japanese Winner for Yankee Rose

Tara Madgwick - Sunday December 1

Just days after her sire All American passed away at Geisel Park in WA, his best ever offspring Yankee Rose produced a new winner in Japan to add further lustre to her burgeoning record as broodmare.

Already the dam of four time Group I winning filly Liberty Island, the Champion Japanese 2YO and 3YO Filly in 2022 and 2023, Yankee Rose produced a third winner at Kyoto on Saturday when her two year-old filly Madison Girl made a winning debut over 1800m.

Trained by Mitsumasa Nakauchida and ridden by Yuga Kawada, Kizuna filly Madison Girl strode clear to win by a length and is the third winner from four foals to race from dual Group I winner Yankee Rose, who also placed in a Golden Slipper and a Cox Plate.

Yankee Rose was purchased originally as a yearling at Inglis Classic from the Widden Stud draft by Darby Racing for a paltry $10,000 and won $2million on the track before being sold privately to Japan where she has proven her worth once again.
