Blueblood Zoustar Filly Wins Listed Twilight Glow

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 30

A full sister to Group I winner Mizzy, Dorrington Farm’s homebred filly She’s Got Pizzazz lifted her worth immeasurably when claiming her first Black Type win at Caulfield on Saturday in the Listed MRC Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m).

Trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman and ridden by Blake Shinn, She’s Got Pizzazz was sent out favourite following a last start fifth in the Group III MRC Thoroughbred Club Stakes off the back of a facile maiden win.

She enjoyed a cosy run in transit and when angled into the clear with a furlong to run was able to show her class and draw away to win by more than two lengths.

Katherine Coleman was thrilled to get the win and believed she could bounce back from her last start defeat.

"Nothing went to plan last start, she got herself a bit worked up behind the barriers and was slow away and after that it was sort of game over,” Coleman said.

"So, today, when she began well and put herself in a beautiful spot like that, as long as she handled the conditions, it was always going to be pretty easy for her.

"Fantastic to get it for Rob Crabtree and all at Dorrington Farm as well, they're big supporters of our stable and fantastic clients of Pete's for a long long time and I know that he'll be rapt with that."

She’s Got Pizzazz was retained to race by Robert Crabtree’s Dorrington Fam and has now won two races and placed three times from six starts earning over $184,000 in prizemoney.

She’s Got Pizzazz is a full sister to $1.8million earning Group I ATC Canterbury Stakes winner Mizzy, who was bought by Tom Magnier for $2.2million at the 2021 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

She is the second stakes-winner among three winners from stakes-winning Magnus mare Missy Cummings, a daughter of stakes-winner Lady Knockout and half-sister to the dam of stakes-winner Laced Up Heels.

Missy Cummings has a yearling colt by So You Think, but no foal this year after missing in 2023 and was covered earlier this spring by Zoustar’s Group I winning son Ozzmosis.

She’s Got Pizzazz is the 59th stakes-winner for Widden Stud’s Champion sire Zoustar

The family appears once at Magic Millions with Attunga Stud’s Lot 86, a colt by Wild Ruler from Wanted Lady, a half-sister to Missy Cummings, the dam of She’s Pizzazz.
