SH Session Inglis-Tatts Online Sale now available - 8 Mares in Foal to Too Darn Hot

Media Release - Thursday November 28

The catalogue of initial entries for the Southern Hemisphere Session - an innovative collaboration between Tattersalls Online and Inglis Digital - has now been published on the Tattersalls Online website.

The headline feature of the Tattersalls Online December Sale, which will be held on December 11-12, the session will showcase mares in foal on Southern Hemisphere covers and offer a unique opportunity to breeders.

Too Darn Hot (GB) is currently the leading second crop sire in Australia.

Five further entries have been confirmed for the Southern Hemisphere Session which will feature eight mares in foal to Darley’s outstanding young stallion Too Darn Hot, Champion First Season Sire in both hemispheres that did not shuttle to Australia for the 2024 Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

Too Darn Hot has enjoyed an extraordinary start to his career at stud and with his progeny in Australasia led by Champion 2YO and three-time G1 winner Broadsiding. Amongst his 11 first crop black type horses from his first Australasian crop are also G2 winners Too Darn Lizzie and Too Darn Discreet. Yearlings by Too Darn Hot sold up to $1.9m in Australia in 2024. In Europe, where his eldest progeny are 3YOs, he is the sire of Irish 1000 Guineas winner Fallen Angel, while his second crop is led by G1 Futurity Trophy-winning 2YO Hotazhell.

The additional entries are led by proven producer Newton’s Night, a winning daughter of Galileo who will be offered by Moulton Stud. Newton’s Night is the dam of this year’s Listed-winning and dual G3 placed 2YO Treasure Isle (pictured). The well-related mare is also a half sister to Fairy Of The Night, granddam of Annabel Neasham’s G1 Doncaster Mile runner-up My Oberon.

Another international pedigree to feature is the South African Champion 2YO Filly and G1 winner Cloth Of Cloud, which will also be consigned by Moulton Stud. A half sister to the G1-winning filly Silver Mountain, Cloth Of Cloud is out of a half sister to G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winner and successful dual hemisphere sire Artie Schiller. Cloth Of Cloud’s colt foal by Wootton Bassett will be offered as lot 917 in the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

Belle Isle is the third lot in the Moulton Stud draft and brings an added dynamic to the session as the multiple black type producer will be offered with a filly foal at foot by No Nay Never, foaled to Southern Hemisphere time. Belle Isle is the dam of G3 Cornwallis Stakes winner Abel Handy and G3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes runner-up Woody Creek, while No Nay Never is the sire of Lake Forest, winner of the $10m Golden Eagle at Rosehill earlier this month.

Joining the 3YO Crimson Coronet in the draft of New England Stud are two further exciting young mares in Believeinmiracles and Good Liza. The regally bred 5YO Believeinmiracles is a winning daughter of the peerless Frankel out of a half sister to dual G1 winning Champion Ulysses from the exceptional Niarchos family of Champion race mare Shiva. They will be joined by the 5YO Good Liza, a winner at two by Kingman from the family of G1 Irish Derby winner Fame And Glory and G1 1000 Guineas winner Legatissimo. Good Liza’s colt foal by Lucky Vega will be offered as Lot 605 in the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

In addition to Crimson Coronet, the previously announced lots in the Southern Hemisphere Session include the dual G3 placed Galileo mare Know Thyself, a daughter of the triple G2 winner and G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas and Derby placegetter Fix, which will be consigned by Hazelwood Bloodstock. Watership Down Stud will offer the G2 placed Savabeel mare Sedaka from the family of international G1 winners Beauty Eternal, Brando, Crowded House, Reckless Abandon, Ticker Tape and Tribalist.

The eight mares confirmed for the Southern Hemisphere Session will be available for inspection by appointment.
