Santos, Prairie Fire dominate 2YO races

Breednet - Sunday February 18
Inglis graduates dominated the 2YO racing in the major Australian states today while our upcoming Select Yearling Sales received multiple significant pedigree updates.

Santos (I Am Invincible x Ghaliah) led in a trifecta of Inglis grads in the Pierro Plate at Randwick, beating Exceltic (Excelebration) and Irish Bet (Smart Missile).

Santos (pictured), which firmed from $51 into $11 for the Golden Slipper following the win, was a $180,000 buy for his trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott from the Emirates Park draft at last year's Classic Yearling Sale.

At Flemington, Prairie Fire (Snitzel x Consistency)surged into Blue Diamond contention ($51 into $9) with an easy win in the Listed The Asian Executive Stakes.

The colt was a $625,000 buy for Sun Stud from Rosemont Stud at the 2017 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

He's now on the third line of betting for next weekend's Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield behind favourite and fellow Inglis graduate Kinky Boom (Spirit Of Boom).

Prairie Fire provided one of two strong pedigree updates for Rosemont Stud's Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale draft.

Prairie Fire's Wandjina half-brother (ex Consistency) is being offered as Lot 312, while the Savabeel half-brother to Group 3 The Vanity winner Rimraam (ex Swansea) is being offered as Lot 132 as part of the Blue Ribandsession.

Trelawney is offering Grunt's Savabeel half-sister (ex Ruqqaya) as Lot 337at Easter.
