One To Watch - Geelong

Mark Smith - Sunday November 17

After a luckless second at Bendigo on debut, the Spirit Of Boom gelding Hot Digity Boom made no mistake at start two over 1235m at Geelong on Sunday.

Ridden by Michael Dee for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, Hot Digity Boom drifted back to second last. Eased out to make his run before the home turn, the 3-year-old gelding copped a decent bump before coming with a sweeping run to defeat the Lonhro gelding Nimbustwothousand by a length with the Showtime colt Welcometotheshow back in third.

He is the ninth foal of the General Nediym mare Queen Of The Falls, a half-sister to the Group II ATC Reisling Stakes winner Elite Falls, runner-up in the Oakleigh Plate and third in the Golden Slipper.
