Denman 3YO Deprive Stays Unbeaten

Media Release - Saturday February 17
A competitive three year-old Benchmark 75 event at Canterbury on Friday night saw the Godolphin gelding Deprive keep his unbeaten record and bring a further update to his half-sister headed for the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

DenmanThe James Cummings trained son of Denman went to the post favourite and under a cool ride from Glyn Schofield surged home late to score by three-quarters of a length in the 1200 metre dash.

Deprive was having his first run back from a spell having won on debut back in October at Warwick Farm.

"It was nice to see the way he finished that off, he's got some real quality about him," said stable representative Darren Beadman.

Deprive is one of two winners from Defrock, a full sister to Group III winner Blackball from the family of Group II winners Hosannah and Altar.

Defrock was on-sold by Darley in 2015 at Magic Millions for $22,000 and her current yearling, a filly by Foxwedge, will be offered at Inglis Premier by Flinders Park Stud as Lot 334.
