$200,000 Spirit of Boom Filly Tops Inglis Classic Book Two

Inglis' Riverside Stables era has begun in the most astonishing fashion imaginable, with a stunning Book 2 today complementing a record-breaking Book 1 to take the sale to never-before-seen levels.

Book 2 of the Classic Sale has proved a resounding success, proving unequivocally it has a permanent home in the Australian marketplace.

$200,000 spirit of Boom filly from Laurinel ArgieWith an average of $44,914, clearance rate of 88% and a gross of $7,051,500 it exceeded all expectations, taking the total gross of the four days of selling to $55,518,000.

Queenslanders Eureka Stud were the big winners of the day, ending Book 2 as leading vendor by aggregate ($707,500) and average ($117,917) and celebrating a 100% clearance rate from six offerings.

Their Spirit of Boom filly from Laurinel Argie was the top priced offering of Book Two fetching $200,000 to the bid of Hopeful Unit Trust Qld, while they also sold Spirit of Boom colts from Snitzel Express and Stylized for $150,000.

Eureka's star stallion Spirit Of Boom topped the leading sire page in both aggregate ($675,000) and average for three or more sold ($135,000).

Eureka's Angus McAlpine was stunned when informed they were leading vendor.

"Us? Are you sure? That's unbelievable,'' he said.
