One to Watch – Goulburn

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 12
A lightly raced filly with a big pedigree from the Bjorn Baker stable was an obvious pick as the ‘One to Watch’ on Monday and she has a sibling by the champion sire headed to Inglis Premier.

Swiss Ace is the sire of Mistress MaceThree year-old Swiss Ace filly Mistress Mace was last of five when making her debut at Kembla last month, but turned that form around to score a nose win in the 1200 metre maiden at Goulburn.

Retained to race by her breeder Dr Phillip Chen, Mistress Mace is a half-sister to Group II winners Eurozone and Miss Marielle, who is even better known as the dam of Group I ATC Coolmore Classic winner Peeping and stakes-winner France.

Mistress Mace is the sixth winner from top producing Group III winner Miss Vandal, who was sold at the 2015 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $230,000 when secured by Boomer Bloodstock.

Now with Yarraman Park, Miss Vandal has a yearling Snitzel colt that will be offered by Yarraman at the Inglis Premier Yearling sale as Lot 527.

Miss Vandal had a colt by I Am Invincible last spring and is now in foal to Hinchinbrook.
