Zousain 2YO Makes it Two from Two

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 26

Zousain gelding Betterlucknextttime looks a natural runner and made it two wins from two starts when he produced another tidy effort to win at Doomben on Saturday.

Prepared by Liam Birchley, who has a great reputation for producing smart juveniles, Betterlucknexttime won on debut over 1050m at Doomben on October 5 and had not trouble repeating the performance over the same course and distance.

He settled behind the leaders for Nikita Beriman and swept home to win by a length.

Betterlucknexttime was a bargain basement $3,750 purchase from the 2023 Inglis Digital August (late) Online Sale and has already repaid the investment banking nearly $100,000 from his first two starts.

Bred by Daandine Stud, Betterlucknexttime is a half-brother to Group III placed Marchena and is the third winner from stakes-placed Snitzel mare Flamenco Girl.
