Lofty Arch - New Stake-Winner for Snitzel

Caulfield Cup day started with a new stakes-winner for champion sire Snitzel with lightly raced colt Lofty Arch scoring an all the way win in the Listed MRC Gothic Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.

Trained by Alex Rae and ridden by Ethan Brown, Lofty Arch was having just his third race start following a debut win at Cranbourne last month and then a good fifth in the Group II VRC Danehill Stakes.

He was ridden a positive race from a wide gate and was too strong to the line winning by half a length over late finishing Ilovethiscity filly Lovelycut.

A $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Twin Hills Stud for The Lofty Thoroughbreds Group Pty Ltd, Lofty Arch was bred by Woodpark Stud. He is a half-brother to stakes-winner The Blue Yes and Group placed filly See You Soon being the second stakes-winner among seven winners from eight to race from Group III winning import Soneva (USA), who is now retired.

Lofty Arch was a $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Twin Hills Stud.

Lofty Arch is the 149th stakes-winner for Arrowfield Stud’s champion sire Snitzel.
