One of the country's fastest horses, Lord of the Sky has found a home for spring's breeding season with the seven-year-old stallion to stand at Kingstar Farm in the Hunter Valley.

Lord of the Sky - Grant CourtneyThree-time Group III winner Lord Of The Sky (Danerich) will join Matthew Sandblom's Kingstar Farm roster when he retires from racing this May, trainer Robbie Laing confirmed yesterday.

Lord Of The Sky has won seven of his 29 career starts including three times at stakes level and has also been placed twice at Group One level, accumulating $1,113,650 in career prize money so far.

The seven-year-old will barrier trial at Cranbourne on Monday before his intended run in the C F Orr Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) at Caulfield on 10 February.

His delighted trainer Robbie Laing confirmed the news on Friday, declaring Lord Of The Sky could become a prime source of speed for breeders keen to tap into his brilliance.

"Kingstar Farm near Denman have bought the horse and they wanted to stand a really quick horse and there aren't too many faster than him," Laing said of Lord Of The Sky.

Kingstar's principal Matthew Sandbolm said: "He fits the profile of the type of stallion who succeeds in Australia; a fast on pace sprinter who was competitive at the top level. He is also a great looking horse who should throw good types. He has also shown his toughness to overcome injury and to still be winning Group races as a 7 year old."

A service fee will be announced closer to the breeding season.
