Extreme Choice Filly Goes Two for Two

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 9

Super impressive when winning on debut at Canterbury back in July, three year-old Extreme Choice filly Extremely Hardys returned at Randwick on Wednesday in a Benchmark 72 event over 1250m and kept her record perfect.

Ridden by James McDonald for Chris Waller, Extremely Hardys bounced straight to the lead and despite being stalked by I Am Invincible filly Seascape, she had enough left at the finish to forge clear and win by half a length as a short priced favourite.

“She’s done a good job progressing from last prep to this one and will strip fitter for today so then we can work out exactly where she measures up,” said stable representative Charlie Duckworth.

“She was highly spoken of after her debut performance where she as very dominant on that heavy track that day, but we don’t get too carried away. We’ll just place her right and see where we can get to.”

Extremely Hardys was a $300,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

Bred by Kingstar Farm, Extremely Hardys was a $300,000 buy for Guy Mulcaster / Chris Waller Racing from the Newgate Farm draft at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and now runs for Huashan Investments.

A half-sister to the stakes placed Remorseless, the striking chestnut filly is the fourth winner from as many to race for the winning More Than Ready (USA) mare Killcareless.

Killcareless is a daughter of the stakes-placed Climatic, a half-sister to Group winners Precious Lorraine and Lucky Raquie from the Monsoon Wedding branch of the famed family of Redoute’s Choice. She had a Cosmic Force yearling filly sell at Magic Millions this year for $100,000 and produced another filly foal by him last month.

Extremely Hardys looks another bright prospect for Extreme Choice, who sired Group III ATC Giomcrack Stakes winner Bell Merci last Saturday.
