Extreme Choice Filly Extremely Hardys Excites on Debut

Mark Smith - Wednesday July 3

There will be better races ahead for exciting Extremely Hardys after the 2-year-old daughter of Extreme Choice introduced herself with a six-length romp over 1200m at Canterbury on Wednesday.

Ridden by Tim Clark for Chris Waller and carrying the colours of Orbis Bloodstock, Extremely Hardys bounced straight to the lead and always travelled like the winner.

When Clark let the reins out an inch, Extremely Hardys disappeared into the distance and, despite wandering out in the closing stages, was untroubled to defeat Godolphin’s Brazen Beau filly Cinsault, who edged out the Lonhro filly Rowena for second.

“She was brilliant, a Timmy Clark special,” stable representative Charlie Duckworth said.

“She obviously gets through the wet and has a nice future.”

Bred by Kingstar Farm, Extremely Hardys was a $300,000 buy for Guy Mulcaster / Chris Waller Racing from the Newgate Farn draft at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and runs for Orbis Bloodstock.

A half-sister to the stakes placed Remorseless (Written Tycoon), the striking chestnut filly is the fourth winner from as many to race for the winning More Than Ready mare Killcareless.

A $290,000 purchase for James Harron B/stock at the 2014 National Broodmare Sale, Killcareless is a daughter of the stakes-placed Climatic (Fusaichi Pegasus), a half-sister to Precious Lorraine and Lucky Raquie from the famed family of Redoute’s Choice.

Recently sold to Gleeson Thoroughbreds for $6,000 on Inglis Digital, Killcareless has a yearling filly by Cosmic Force , a $100,000 but for BK Racing & Breeding /Vassallo Racing Management at the Magic Millions. After missing in 2022, Killcareless revisited Cosmic Force last spring.

Extremely Hardys is the third 2-year-old winner of the season for Extreme Choice and the second highly promising 2-year-old son of Extreme Choice bred by Kingstar Farm following the unbeaten Emirate.
