Trained by Mike de Kock, Fish River strode clear to win the 1400 metre contest by two lengths and has now won three of seven starts with this victory her first in a Black Type race.

By Canford Cliffs (IRE) from Zabeea, she was a $130,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Form Bloodstock from the draft of Rosemont Stud and was a successful pinhook having been first bought by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock for $60,000 from the Yarraman draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

Fish River is the ninth stakes-winner for former Blue Gum Farm shuttler Canford Cliffs, who also had a stakes-winner in Australia on Saturday with Cliff's Edge scoring at Caulfield in the Group III MRC Manfred Stakes.

Zabeea has a yearling filly by Reset and was covered by Palentino last spring.

Other Australian bred winners on the card were Manhattan Cocktail (3c Manhattan Rain x Forward Thinking) and Tigerlace (3f Where's That Tiger (USA) x Titania).
