Juvenile Trial Watch – Randwick - Plus G1 Stars

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 8

There were two juvenile heats at Randwick on Tuesday morning won by Gai and Adrian and also James Cummings, but before they were run the G1 stars stepped out in a rare heat where every runner was a G1 winner!

A mix of Everest and King Charles contenders, plus Celestial Legend sporting blinkers made the trial a must watch with Golden Slipper winner :Lady of Camelot finishing in front for Rachel King, who will ride her in the Everest.

Joliestar was ridden in this heat by James McDonald and he will also take the ride on Everest day.

Another heat was won by quality colt Emirate, who has run well in very tough races at his first two runs this spring finishing fifth in both the Group II ATC Run to the Rose and Group I ATC Golden Rose behind Traffic Warden and Broadsiding.

The Chris Waller trained son of Extreme Choice hit the line full of running and with those two colts splitting off towards the Everest and Caulfield Guineas, Emirate might find a target race to suit.

Written By gave the Waterhouse Bott stable Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Straight Charge last season and he is the sire of speedy filly Enchanted By, who beat another Written By filly Minks Written by a neck, with both fillies having their first ever trial.

A modest $60,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Tricolours Racing & Syndications Pty Ltd, Enchanted By is bred for speed being a half-sister to Lead Me On, who won the $500,000 Magic Millions Debut for colts in January this year.

Godolphin don’t have a lot of Snitzel’s in the stable, but well bred colt  Comedy looked a natural runner, jumoing well from an inside gate and using the running rail to advantage before improving to the line to win by three-quarters of a length in quicker time to the fillies.

He is a half-brother to Group III winner Bacchanalia and stakes-winner Aquitaine from Group III placed Thalia, a half-sister to a pair of juvenile Group winners in Calliope and Zethus.
