Trial Winner for Kings Legacy

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 1

With new season juveniles popping up in trials all over the country it’s well worth taking note of what is going on around us and at Murray Bridge on Tuesday morning King’s Legacy got into the action with a stylish heat winner.

A dual Group I winning juvenile by Redoute’s Choice, King’s Legacy has a profile that suggests he should get his share of juvenile winners and Steel Trap did everything right at her first trial for the Clarken/ Macgillivray stable.

She travelled outside the leader and surged clear held together to win the 800m heat by more than a length over Ole Kirk gelding Kelorik.

A $30,000 Magic Millions Adelaide purchase for Angas River Contractors Pty Ltd from the Phoenix Broodmare Farm draft, Steel Trap is the first foal from Lochita, a winning grand-daughter of dual Group I winner Arborea. Lochita is due to foal again to King’s Legacy.

Closely related to champion sire Not a Single Doubt, King’s Legacy had yearlings sell this year for up to $775,000 and stands at a fee of $22,000 this spring.
