A quality packed catalogue for the NZB Ready to Run Sale is now online and in the lead up to the sale we’ll go looking each week for some horses of interest that jump out on pedigree for various reasons.

Too Darn Hot (GB) has taken a good lead on the Australian Second Season Sire List after two months of a the new season and a stakes double at Rosehill on Saturday courtesy of Group I ATC Golden Rose winner Broadsiding and Listed ATC Heritage Stakes winner Perspiration has the Darley shuttler well and truly in the spotlight.

The champion son of Dubawi is not shuttling to Australia this spring to the disappointment of many breeders given the growing esteem in which his stock are held guaranteeing his three entries for the Ready to Run Sale will come in for close inspection.

Lot 57 is a colt from Maevemoo offered by BMD Bloodstock. He is a half-brother to two winners from a winning half-sister to stakes-placed Honey Toast and Let’s See Action from Group III winner Purde.

Lot 129 is a colt from Prosecco offered by KB Bloodstock. He is the second foal of stakes-placed Prosecco, a half-sister to 2018 NZB Filly of the Year and multiple Group winner Dijon Bleu from the family of Group winners Swift Witness and So Pristine.

Lot 388 is a filly from Golden Conquest offered by BMD Bloodstock. She is the second foal of an unraced Medgalia D’Oro (USA) grand-daughter of Group III winner Gamble Me from the family of last season’s quality juvenile Shangri La Express.

Champion European sire Frankel passed a milestone last Sunday posting his 150th stakes-winner worldwide and he did it Australia with imported stayer Herman Hesse (GB) taking out the Listed RM Ansett Classic at Mornington.

Whatever way you look at it, Frankel has emerged as an exceptional sire running at an astonishing 17.3% SW to runner and if we look at his stats for the Australasian region they are even slightly better with 18 stakes-winners from 96 starters equating to 18.7%.

He has one entry for this sale.

Lot 156 a colt from Salsa Bella (FR) offered by Kilgravin Lodge. He is the second foal of a Group III placed mare by Siyouni and her first foal is a winner in Italy. Frankel has had just two runners from mares by Siyouni and both are winners.
