Newgate Offer $100,000 First Crop Classic Bonus

Media Release - Thursday February 1
Just as we did last year, Newgate Farm will again offer an innovative cash incentive for buyers at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale that purchase a yearling by one of our first crop sires – Deep Field, Dissident and Wandjina.

Newgate Farm will pay a $100,000 bonus to the recorded buyer as listed in the official Inglis sales results of any two year-old by one of our first crop sires that can win the 2019 Inglis Classic race.

Already we have a live chance for someone to collect the bonus this year with Sizzling siring promising colt Saint Antonio Lad to win at Gosford on Tuesday for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable. He was bought from the Sledmere Stud draft by Snowden Racing for $100,000.

Deep FieldDeep Field has 39 entries for Classic (click here to see them),Dissident has 29 entries (click here to see them) and Wandjina has 20 (click here to see them), so there is ample opportunity for buyers to take a ticket in our Inglis Classic lottery!

"Our young stallions all have the pedigree and performance to suggest they can get two year-old winners and you only have to look at their progeny on show here at Newmarket to see someone will have a great chance of collecting this bonus next year,” said Bruce Slade, Newgate Farm, Director of Stallions and Sales.

Deep Field is a record breaking sprinter that won five of just eight starts. He is by Northern Meteor, who was the Champion Australian First Season Sire in 2013 and comes from the family of top class sires Commands and Danewin.

Deep Field was the most represented sire at Magic Millions this year and had 39 yearlings average
$219,231 with his top seller a colt from Reggae that made $675,000.

DissidentAustralian Horse of the Year Dissident is by Golden Slipper winner Sebring and won a Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview on debut at two before going on to win five Group I events up to 1600m earning over $2million in prizemoney.

Dissident had 34 yearlings sell at Magic Millions at an average price of $203,824 with his best result a colt from Prompt that made $525,000.

Wandjina was the first $1million yearling for his champion sire Snitzel and started favourite in the Listed ATC Breeders Plate, before pulling up shinsore. He blossomed at three to win the Group I VRC Australian Guineas and split Dissident and Chautauqua when finishing second in the Group I ATC All Aged Stakes.

The Magic Millions also proved successful for Wandjina (below) with 18 yearlings averaging
$151,944 and his top seller being a colt from Heaven Has Eyes that made $360,000
