One to Watch – Ballarat

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 30
A $650,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell, this two year-old Redoute’s Choice filly was an easy pick as the ‘One to Watch’ from Ballarat on Tuesday.

Nasaayim as a yearlingPrepared by the Hayes Dabernig partnership, Nasaayim improved on her close debut second at Flemington on January 13 to score an easy victory.

A short priced favourite, she was second in running and forged clear to win the 1200 metre maiden by two and a quarter lengths.

Co-bred by Arrowfield and sold from their Inglis Easter draft, Nasaayim is a three-quarter sister to Group III winner Dracarys and is the second foal of stakes-winning Elusive Quality (USA) mare Nocturnelle.

Sadly, Nocturnelle has no yearling this year, but did have a Snitzel filly last spring and is back in foal to Arrowfield’s champion sire.
