First Winner of New Season for Brutal

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 9

Winner of the Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap (1600m), Brutal was at his best as a three year-old and the promising sire son of O’Reilly put his first winner on the bboard for a new season when the Lindsay Park trained gelding Four Ace scored at Geelong on Friday.

A winner at Cranbourne in June, Four Ace as fifth at his next start in the Group III SAJC Sires Produce Stakes last month and then returned to winning form scoring by a length in the 1300m Class 1 with Daniel Stackhouse in the saddle.

“He won really well and put them away quite easily,” said Daniel Stackhouse.

Four Ace has two wins from five starts with the promise of more wins to come.

Four Ace was a $150,000 purchase for Lindsay Park Racing from the Newgate Farm draft at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and is the fourth winner from five to race for the stakes-placed Not A Single Doubt mare Claudia Jean, a grand-daughter triple Group I winner Miltak.

Brutal has made an encouraging start to his stud career with nine first crop winners from 23 starters headed by stakes-winner Jenni’s Meadow and he stands at a fee of $16,500 this spring at Newgate Farm.
