She Will Reign's Kizuna Colt Sells for $1,940,000

The fifth foal of the Golden Slipper and Moir Stakes winner She Will Reign (Manhattan Rain), a colt foal by the leading stallion Kizuna, was a ¥210m (A$1,940,000) purchase for Hirosaki Toshihiro at the foal session of JRHA Select Sale on Tuesday.

The bidding was brisk on the February 9th born foal who was in the ring for just a few short minutes before the gavel fell. (lot 433).

A star on the racetrack when trained by Gary Portelli for Darby Racing, She Will Reign has been a reliable producer for Northern Farm with five consecutive foals.

She has two winners from as many to race, with Danon Tornado (Heart's Cry) Group II-placed and the 3-year-old Diamond Rain (Satono Diamond) breaking his maiden at Kyoto in May.

The daughter of Manhattan Rain has a yearling filly by Japanese 2000 Guineas and Hopeful Stakes winner Saturnalia (JPN) and an unraced 2yo colt by former Arrowfield shuttler Real Steel (JPN).
