She Will Reign impresses in first trial

Breednet - Friday August 25
Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign impressed everybody when seen out for the first time this campaign at the barrier trials at Warwick Farm on Friday.

She Will ReignShowing excellent gate speed, she was always kept under a tight hold by rider Ben Melham, going to line comfortably to finish a close second to stablemate Single Bullet.

"You come here for this first test since the Slipper and just want to see her back and she showed that," trainer Gary Portelli told the Sydney Morning Herald.

"It was what I thought I would get from her and everything is on track for The Everest.

"She will have another trial and then run in the Moir in Melbourne."

Single Bullet also impressed with his effort.

The Not A Single Doubt colt won the Pago Pago Stakes in the lead up to the Golden Slipper but failed in heavy going at his next two runs in the Slipper and Sires Produce.
