Exciting New August Virtual Sale for Magic Millions

Media Release - Tuesday June 18

Following recent successes and responding to industry requests Magic Millions is delighted to announce an exciting Virtual Sale on the eve of the breeding season.

To be held on Tuesday, August 27, the auction will offer a select line up of stock to a virtual audience with a quality catalogue to go under the hammer.

The virtual sale will enable vendors and owners to present stock at auction with a proven "live" Magic Millions sale feel utilising world class auctioneers in a streamlined online style.

Over the past 12 months Magic Millions has conducted virtual sales to sell the retired racemares Sheeza Belter and Seradess who realised $1.35 million and $700,000 respectively.

A similar process was used to offer the 10 time Group One winner Imperatriz who sold for a Southern Hemisphere record price of $6.6 million last month.

While the lots being offered will not be present in the sale ring, the sales process will be conducted from the Magic Millions Sales Complex on the Gold Coast.

The news comes with the first high profile entry for the sale confirmed with Yarraman Park Stud announcing that international Group winner Have a Good Day will go under the hammer.

A winner of the Group Three Prix de Cabourg at Deauville in France, the Irish bred Have a Good Day will be the only Group winning mare in foal to champion sire Frankel offered in Australia in 2024.

"It's exciting to announce this new Virtual Sale," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said. "The process has worked exceptionally well with mares such as Sheeza Belter and Seradess and we are looking at giving vendors the same opportunity."

"All lots are to be photographed and filmed and come with the relevant fit for purpose certificates. And then the vendors and owners and prospective buyers will be able to be a part of a streamlined, proven and popular selling process."

"A number of our clients are wanting to offer quality bloodstock to an online audience, but they don't want to have to wait days for the sale to eventuate. They are wanting professional auctioneers to present the stock for online, phone or in person bidding on the Gold Coast."

"There's nothing like the dynamic auction experience to buy or sell. It's very transparent with the ability to see and hear each bid. It's cost and time effective and is already proven by our company."

"Whether it's racefillies, broodmares, proven colts and geldings being aimed at carnivals around the world or stallion shares this Virtual Sale will provide the ideal opportunity."

Entries for the sale are open now and the catalogue will be released online in early August. To lodge an entry click here.
